Putting them to the test
I was ever so kindly sent a pair of Longford boots from Dubarry during the 22/23 game season, and I couldn’t wait to put them to the test out in the field that Winter.
On a shoot day at home in January, in typical British style, the weather delivered with a downpour all day, which gave for the ultimate boot testing experience.
While the pheasants were sitting tight in the warmth of cover, I had secure footing in muddy fields and moved confidently in the wet terrain thanks to the structured tread. The water-resistant leathers and GORE-TEX lining meant my feet were dry from start to finish and after a quick clean they looked good as new the next day.
Style them in Summer
Not only are the Longfords an Autumn-Winter staple in my wardrobe, but they also make for a superb country boot to be worn in Spring-Summer too. In the cooler months the GORE-TEX lining works hard to keep your feet cosy, while in the warmer months it allows your feet to breath.
The pull-on design, helped by discreet fingers pulls, mean they’re a quick and easy option for finishing off any outfit. Whether that be jeans and a blouse for an evening in the pub garden or styled with a summer dress to attend a county show with Pimms in hand.
