Dubarry Equips The Famous Project CIC
We are proud to announce that we have outfitted the all-female crew of The Famous Project CIC with our iconic Crosshaven boots, specially designed to withstand the most demanding offshore conditions. This support accompanies their ambitious goal: to become the first-ever all-female crew to win the Jules Verne Trophy, aboard the iconic trimaran IDEC SPORT.
THE JULES VERNE TROPHY: THE ULTIMATE OFFSHORE CHALLENGE
The Jules Verne Trophy is one of the most iconic and demanding achievements in offshore sailing: a timed, non-stop circumnavigation of the globe, starting and finishing on a line between the Créac'h lighthouse (Brittany, France) and Lizard Point (Cornwall, United Kingdom). For over 25 years, it has represented the ultimate in performance, requiring exceptional skill, endurance, teamwork, and unparalleled maritime expertise.
The current record is held by Francis Joyon and his crew aboard IDEC SPORT, set in 2017, with a time of 40 days, 23 hours, 30 minutes, and 30 seconds.
THE CHALLENGE BEGINS
The IDEC SPORT trimaran crossed the starting line on Saturday, October 29th at 2:40 PM (French time).
With this start, The Famous Project CIC launches a bold campaign aiming not only to break records, but also to make history—by challenging the traditionally male legacy of the Jules Verne Trophy and inspiring future generations of women in offshore sailing. Follow the boat here.
