Pamela Lee

An Irish dream setting sail for the 2026 Route du Rhum

On November 1, 2026, Pamela Lee will set sail in the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe. A historic first for this Irish sailor, who is preparing to cross the Atlantic solo aboard her Class40. At Dubarry of Ireland, we are proud to support her in this exceptional adventure.

A dream come true

It all started during the previous edition of the Route du Rhum. While working alongside another skipper, Pamela watched the start from Saint-Malo and made herself a promise: "This is the race I want to do."

Since then, she has been building her project with determination. With Ripple Racing, created in 2023, and the support of partners like DFDS and Ecocem, she is getting closer to her goal: to become the first Irish sailor, man or woman, to take part in this legendary race.

Beyond the sporting challenge, Pamela hopes to inspire others to believe in their ambitions: "Anything is possible."

Ready to face the Atlantic

Crossing the Atlantic alone for nearly three weeks is a major challenge. Her longest solo race having lasted seven days, Pamela approaches this new stage with clarity and curiosity.

For her, the key is to stay in shape for as long as possible: "Dry, warm, well-fed, and rested whenever possible."

This is where equipment plays a crucial role. Aboard a Class40, the deck is constantly buffeted by waves. Dubarry Crosshaven boots are essential for keeping feet dry and warm, maintaining comfort, and allowing you to stay focused on what matters, even when conditions get rough.

Heading to Guadeloupe!

At Dubarry of Ireland, we are proud to support Pamela in this adventure which celebrates both her Irish roots, her determination and her taste for challenge.

Fair winds, Pamela! The entire Dubarry team is behind you for this Route du Rhum 2026.
